Mantra Vol. 2 Issues

Okay, I'm no big fan of these either, but we can't exactly ignore them, now can we? Besides Eden was in the first few of them, and NecroMantra even made an appearance at one point. There were 8 issues before the series was canceled; 7 in the regular series, plus the initial Black September "Infinity" issue.

Mantra Infinity

Gus mysteriously inherits vast magical powers due to Black September and kills Eden, causing her to end up on the Soulwalk. Meanwhile, Eden's teenage babysitter Lauren enters Mantra's cloak and arms herself with the Sword of Fangs and other magical items from the castle in the cloak and prepares to fight off Gus.

Lauren, as Mantra, fights off Gus and escapes. However, the Black September effect also affects the girls in the Mantra fan club, uniting them into a single powerful villainess called Coven, who attacks Lauren.

Lauren tricks Coven into attacking Gus, who is himself under attack by agents of Aladdin. They knock each other unconscious, and Coven reverts to being the four girls. Gus is taken into custody by agents of Aladdin.

NecroMantra arrives on the scene, and after attempting to finish off Eden, attacks Lauren. Eden uses her magic and the Sword of Fangs to return to Earth from the Soulwalk, but apparently does so at the expense of her magical powers, which disappear.

Eden, now powerless, tricks NecroMantra into retreating by making her think the Tradesmen are after her. Eden is reunited with Evie, and learns of Gus' incarceration by Aladdin. Aladdin, now concerned over the appearance of a new Mantra, dispatches a task force to capture her consisting of the robotic NM-E Mark II, the new Wrath, and Eden herself.

NM-E, out of control, attacks Lauren. Working together, Lauren and the new Wrath manage to badly damage the robot, who escapes back to Aladdin. Eden, still powerless, announces that she and Evie are moving to San Francisco so she can be near Gus, who is incarcerated in an Aladdin Ultra-prison. (This is the last appearance of Eden Blake in the series.)

Lauren and Rush team up to fight the demonic Ajak-Kar, a demon who has taken over the body of Scott, one of Lauren's classmates.

Mantra Vol. 2, #7

Lauren and Rush again battle Ajak-Kar. Lauren deduces that the power of the demon is centered around his tattoo, and uses that information to banish him and restore Scott to normal.
