Here's a quick reality check: the series has been canceled and (at least for the time being) the Ultraverse is no more. So, if there are going to be any new Mantra stories for the foreseeable future...that means it falls to us, kids! Sites like this one can showcase the rare and hard-to-find stuff, but they're still recycling what's already out there. Unless and until the Ultraverse ever returns, custom artwork and fan fiction are the best hope we have of seeing new material. So, if you've got the talent, pick up a pencil! And if you don't, then support the ones that do!
In the meantime, here are some existing fan-written stories featuring the Ultraverse's Golden Sorceress.
Warning: Some of these stories contain strong sexual content, and are intended for mature audiences. If you want to archive any of these stories on another site, drop me a line and I'll help you get in touch with the appropriate authors to get their permission.
Some well-written poems about Mantra. (Trust me--you'll like them. And if you still think poetry sounds off-putting, then I'll tempt you further by telling you that these contain a few graphics you won't find elsewhere on the site. How's that for added incentive? )
Title | Description |
Lukasz's Song | A brief retelling of Mantra's story, focussed largely on her early days as Lukasz before he became Mantra. |
The Ballad of Eden Blake | A bittersweet tale of Mantra as Eden Blake, looking back following the events of Black September when she lost her powers. |
Evie's Story | A tale told from Evie's perspective, with the little girl wondering why her mother has become so distant lately. |

A Mirror For Mantra |
A fantastic fan-fiction story written by C.D. Lee and posted on the Ultraverse: A New Twist site. In my opinion this is one of the better Mantra stories out there, since it really captures the spirit of the character and delves into her personality. |
The Company of Wolves |
Another great new story from C.D. Lee. While on a school camping trip with her son Gus, Mantra uncovers a dangerous conspiracy that threatens all the parents and children. |
Where Have All The Soldiers Gone? |
A new ongoing Mantra miniseries by C.D. Lee, featuring Warstrike! Added Chapter 3, "The Witch and the Wardrobe". |
Mantra: Day of the Storm God |
A terrific new story by BobH where Mantra puts some closure to an unsuccessful World War II mission she had undertaken back when she was a male warrior in Archimage's service. |
Mantra Primed |
A Mantra/Prime teamup story where their powers get a little jumbled together. (There's even a surprise guest star!) |
Mantra: The Return | This story attempts to undo the damage wrought by Black September, restoring Mantra's powers and correcting the Ultraverse timeline. |
Timeripper | This story isn't about Mantra directly, but she does appear
in it from time to time. This story knits together over three dozen different
comic storylines featuring transgendered heroes. Warning: Contains strong sexual content |
Timeripper II:
Reality Bomb (Incomplete) |
Picking up where Timeripper left off, this deals with the
fallout from the previous story and introduces a few new twists. Again,
Mantra isn't the central character, but she does make a few appearances. Warning: Contains strong sexual content |
The "No More Fakes" universe was introduced on the TSA-Talk mailing list a couple of years ago, and centered around a Halloween party at the Raucous Chicken club where a crazed wizard declares, "I've had it with this room full of fakes!" With this, he casts a spell causing all the attendees to be transformed into whatever their costume was. A brief synopsis of the universe can be found in the TSA-Talk FAQ; you can also get more information and stories at the "No More Fakes" archives located here and here.
